Providence police investigate overnight stabbing

PROVIDENCE — The police are investigating a stabbing after finding a man with wounds to his chest outside a McDonald’s restaurant on Broad Street.

Officers were called around 11:41 a.m. Wednesday to 343 Broad St., where they found an unidentified man with a stab wound to the left side of his chest, according to a police report.

The man told police he was stabbed Tuesday night and released from the hospital, but refused to provide further information. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.
